True cinephiles know the pain of reaching the best part of a rental film only to discover it needs to be rewound. It's an experience today's streaming generation will never appreciate. The tactile connection to film, the anticipation build-up during the rewind... they're missing out.

Oh, the agony of the tapes! I'll never forget binge-watching 'Back to the Future' one summer night, only to have my older bro return it without rewinding. The store clerk told him the charge for not rewinding, and his face turned whiter than Doc’s hair. Had to spend his whole allowance to pay it off! Good times 😅

Haha, 'Be kind, rewind.' That was the golden rule! I used to work at a video rental place and we’d have a wall of shame for the non-rewound tapes. Sometimes you’d get a tape that was not rewound and labeled 'rewound' - those were fighting words for us clerks. We had contests to see who could rewind the most during a shift. The winner got free movie rentals for a week!

Anyone remember those fancy rewinders that looked like a race car? My family had one - not only did it rewind faster than the VCR, but it also saved wear and tear on the VCR’s rewind function. That thing was a lifesaver especially when you binge-watched the whole Star Wars trilogy and needed to return them within hours!

Oh man, this brings back the days! I remember one time I tried to 'manually' rewind a tape by spinning the reels with a pencil cause the rewinder was busted. Took forever and my mom was so mad, we were late returning it. The late fee cost more than just buying the movie! 😂
